I had an idea the other day for a rocking horse. Well, my idea of a rocking horse. It's less of a horse and more of a motorcycle or airplane inspired toy. The main body is one piece of molded plywood with cherry veneer. The seat is made out of of a piece of plywood I molded into shape, which I then covered in foam. Using my old industrial sewing machine and my minimal upholstery sills, I sewed up a seat cover with marine grade black vinyl and a Pendelton inlay. The handlebars and foot pegs are solid oak dowels.

I had my 4-year old niece come over to help me decide on the location for the foot pegs and take the rocking horse for a spin. She loved it. This thing was a blast to make and it's really got me wanting to make a few more with some other wood and fabric combos.

So cool, well done! Would be very interested as we have welcomed our first grandchild, and this would be a huge hit I am sure.
