Pangea windows

by 1 December 08, 2010

I made these roll-up window shades for our living room windows. They're made from canvas painter tarps and left-over fabric scraps. It uses pulleys and rope to roll the shade up and down. The top window shows "Pangea", the bottom shows today's continents. DIY instructions here.

Hi Ricardo, the cardboard deer head was a xmas gift from my fiancé. She got it from Urban Outfitters, awesome ain’t it?

Nick, I’m actually about to make some more of these roll-ups and was planning on doing a step-by-step very soon. Thanks for the compliments!

Hi – I am a longtime reader of your blog. I love all the pieces you make and I am inspired by your creativity. I am really interested in making some roll up canvas shades like the ones in this post but I cant figure out how the pulley system would work. Could you please describe what you did to make these work?
Thanks, and keep up all the good work!

Nick

Greetings from Bruxelles

I stumbled on your blog and just spent some quality time reading and viewing your work.
Wondering if the trophy head between the two maps was done by you or bought? Any chance of a diy tutorial?

Ricardo
